The “German-Chinese Art Festival” initiated by the Foundation German and Chinese Culture is a project to promote intercultural and artistic exchange between China and Germany as well as Europe in order to deepen the mutual understanding of culture and art.

At the same time, it provides a platform for young, internationally emerging artists as well as established artists to learn from each other and exchange their views on art. The festival invites emerging and established artists from Europe and China (expandable to all other Asian countries) to participate in the festival.

The German-Chinese Art Festival will travel to different cities in China. We will invite some German artists to China, together with invited local Chinese artists, to show the audience the exciting process of cultural and artistic interaction between Germany and China.

At the same time, we will invite media organizations to produce a documentary about the whole process of the festival, creating a good basis for future cultural and artistic communication between the two sides. The host city will also use this opportunity to promote its urban culture and historical heritage.

Since the pandemic is not over yet, we have also prepared two alternative options and will update on our website the current status.

Possible sections are music, film, dance, magic, book exhibition and painting. Each section is formed by several programs, which will be published in the near future.
