IFA, the largest international consumer electronics exhibition in the world took place on Sep.5 in Berlin. 1,939 international brands attended this year’s IFA , presenting the visitors the most leading and advanced electronic products and high technology.
on Sep.8, IFA exectuive direcotr Jens Heithecker and CEO Dr. Kotzbauer from German company Metz, vice president of Galanz Mr. Liang Huiqiang, Director of Miji Ms. Maeck, Berlin Media and artist Mr. Chen Ning were guests at the Studio of IFA media center. The reporter from the foundation of German and Chinese Culture interviewed them.
According to IFA exectuive director Mr. Heithecker, despite the current changes in the economic environment compare to the previous years, IFA has still broken a new record of the number of exhibitors. Trade show has brought the newest technologies and products like always, and received positive feedbacks from the exhibitors and the visitors.
The three companies invited for the interview were all international companies whose expectations was to improve their influence in the European market by attending IFA. According to Mr. Liang, Galanz is a well-known brand for electronic home appliances in China, with great technology and products. The challenge they are facing is how to improve brand recognition, build connection with German consumers and earn their trust for the brand.
Miji is a German family company that has been focusing on kitchen cooking technology solution since 20 years. It is also the first German company to bring advanced electronic cooker products into the Chinese market. Their aim is to promote the concept of healthy diet and it is a concept that is renouncing with the European consumers, they wish for the same success in the German market.
Dr. Kotzbauer said that after being bought by Skyworth in 2015, Metz has close commercial relationship with the Chinese market. In the past four and a half years, Metz and Skyworth have been working smoothly on the technical and management level. Metz has always needed the opportunity to show itself, and IFA is a very good platform.
The three companies guests showed their appreciation and praises for IFA’s excellent organisation. Dr. Kotzbauer said, “Metz, the german brand has already 80 years of history, is known as an old German brand for TV. Until now, Metz has attended IFA more than 20 times. This year can be regarded as one of the most successful IFA shows. ” Mr. Liang thought that IFA creates opportunity for Galanz, allows Galanz to get to know international partners from different fields and technologies. He has gathered new ideas from attending the show. Ms. Maeck thought, as it is the first time for Miji to attend IFA, and has great market response. At IFA, they are able to make professional exchanges, the quality of visitors is very high. She’s very satisfied by the pre-preparations of IFA.
The three companies invited for the interview are not only partners of Berlin IFA, but also partners of CE China. When talking about CE China’s initiative, Mr. Heithecker said, “Berlin is an international city, with visitors from all over the world, global enterprises and media, that’s why IFA Berlin offers a global exhibition platform. For companies, there are three markets that are especially important. Europe, Asia-Especially China, and North America. IFA hopes to bring its successful experiences to China and the USA, to organise trade shows with the same standards, and to build a networking platform with equally high quality. He empathised, at CE China happening two weeks after, international brands will be gathered together with producers who are eager to bring new products to consumers. Connecting important market participants, high quality brands and retailers together.
This year for the first time, IFA has established a media service center, directed at Chinese medias, operated by the foundation of German and Chinese Culture and the German media company TVT. The foundation of German and Chinese Culture thanked the executive director of IFA Jens Heithecker for the support from the organiser. At the end of the interview, Mr. Chen Ning presented Mr. Jens Heithecker with the words: “a bridge flying over east and west”, which described the IFA exhibition as a bridge between technology and culture between the East and the West. Even thousands of kilometers across thousands of miles of water can make “the heavens change through”.
